Managed the organisational impact of the 2019 Supreme Court judgment concerning PF wages and allowances. This involved detailed review of salary components, assessment of potential PF exposure, payroll impact analysis and translating the legal interpretation into a practical implementation framework.
Managed an intensive EPFO Squad inspection involving scrutiny of establishment, employee and contractor records. The exercise required coordinated data retrieval, PF reconciliation, validation of contractor compliance, interaction with inspecting authorities and structured response to observations.
Handled a complex EPF assessment covering a historical period extending from 2008, requiring reconstruction and reconciliation of legacy employment, wage and contribution records. The matter involved proceedings under Section 7A, along with consequential issues relating to Sections 7Q and 14B, assessment of potential exposure and structured representation before the EPFO.
Handled ESIC coverage and applicability issues concerning construction and project-site workers, including interpretation of regulatory requirements and their practical implementation across decentralised, geographically dispersed and open project locations.
Handled BOCW and Labour Cess compliance and assessment matters across multiple states for infrastructure and project operations. Experience included examination of assessable project cost, reconciliation of cess liability, contractor interfaces, supporting documentation and representation before concerned authorities.
Undertaken in-depth labour-law and social-security due diligence during acquisition and merger exercises, complementing conventional legal due diligence with a practitioner-led examination of actual compliance at the operational level. The approach focused on identifying potential inherited exposures relating to EPF, ESIC, contractor workforce, statutory dues, employee liabilities and historical compliance practices.
Handled EPF and social-security matters relating to expatriates and International Workers, including determination of International Worker status, PF membership and contribution implications, wage treatment and applicability of Social Security Agreements (SSAs) under the EPF framework.
